My wife and two of my daughters stopped at a roadside fruit stand the other day, hoping for some fresh, ripe tomatoes. For some reason, one of them asked, “Are these tomatoes hydroponic?” To their shock, the answer was, “Yes.” It was shocking because they expected to find fresh garden produce at a road-side stand. They did not expect to find hydroponic produce, like what is found in the supermarket. We have a preference for tomatoes grown in real dirt, with real sun and rain. They just taste better when ripe.

Some days, I think that comment spam takes away much of the enjoyment of writing a blog. This morning, I deleted 208 comments that were caught by the comment spam filter. I also deleted 37 more that were not caught. I added five new filter critreon. It really is a shame to have to deal with this form of graffiti.
