Why does our government borrow?

Why does our government borrow so much money when doing that is directly opposed to God’s principles?
For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. — Deuteronomy 15:6 (KJV)
This was God’s instructions to the nation Israel regarding national debt. It is a principle that any government would be wise to follow. As you can see, nations that don’t borrow reign over other nations. Nations that borrow are reigned over by the lender nations. What kind of nation is the United States? We are the borrowing kind. That does not bode well for our future as a sovereign nation.
“I place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.” — Thomas Jefferson, third US president, architect and author (1743-1826)

Totally agree!
It goes for all of America as well. Credit cards, cars, our homes, everything financed. And many Christians will be in debt up to their eyeballs with credit cards, cars, and mortgages looking exactly like the world, and not set apart as we are called to be. We are to owe no many but to love him. Not $100,000 in debt because we want to by now and pay later (or want more than we can afford). The bible also says that the borrower becomes a slave to the lender. Jesus did not die for us to be slaves! We are to be FREE.
If the Lord was to tell us to move to some remote place to serve Him many of us couldn’t because we have not followed his principles. No it is not a sin to borrow, but it is not recommended in the Word, it is frowned upon basically…
Lastly different topic,
I love that our government officials (elected by the people) vote different plans into effect for themselves than for us! Why has America not caught on to this?
